M.TH – HISTORY OF CHRISTIANITY
OVERVIEW
The curriculum is designed to give the students a comprehensive understanding of historical methodology and different perspectives of History. It enables the students to have an indepth study of historical events and leading to historical research and writing.
MAIN OBJECTIVES
The courses are designed with an aim to enable the students:
- To identify, understand and analyse various historiographical perspectives.
- To evaluate, interpret and appropriate perspectives, primary, secondary, tertiary, oral and living sources in accordance with principles and historical investigations.
- To develop the ability to evaluate and interpret the changes.
- To bring out the unknown/unwritten histories of the people at the periphery to include them in mainstream history.

Admission Requirement for M.Th History of Christianity
- Any applicant who has passed the BD Examination of Senate of Serampore College in Second Class and obtained B Grade (57.5% and above) average in the History and Mission cluster in BD studies.
- MDiv graduate of Asia Theological Association(ATA) who passed MTh qualifying examination conducted by Senate of Serampore College(University).
- After BD Studies, one year of Christian service is required for MTh admission.
